The inaugural Fleming Yachts Australia Rendezvous has been recently held in the Whitsundays, starting and finishing at Hamilton Island. The event was held 3rd – 6th September 2015 where we were blessed with amazing sunshine and good cruising weather. A total of 6 Fleming Yachts (4 x F55s & 2 x F65s) together with 28 Owners and guests took part in the event.
The weekend started off with sunset Champagne and Canapés on board Fleming 65-025 ‘Redmond Ross’ before a wonderful dinner at Mariners Seafood Restaurant sponsored by Fleming Yachts.
The following day 65-025 ‘Redmond Ross’, 55-057 ‘Robert Scott’, 55-167 ‘Meander’, 55-228 ‘Belle Époque’ and 55-233 ‘post office’ departed for Refuge Bay in Nara Inlet where guest where invited on board ‘Belle Époque’ for lunch starting with freshly shucked oysters collected by the Mayor of Cid Harbour ‘Buddy’. This was followed by an amazing feast, complements of the Owners of 55-228 ‘Belle Époque’.
On Saturday the fleet continued to Gloucester Passage where we were meet by 65-007 ‘North West’, great to have the only two Fleming 65s in Australia together! Montes Reef Resort was the venue for lunch which was enjoyed by everyone. The day was capped by an amazing sunset over the water, a perfect backdrop for the 6 fine vessels at anchor!
Fleming Yachts Australia would like to thank everyone involved who made the 4 day event run so smoothly and be so enjoyable, and thank you for the good feed-back; who knows, we might well do it again next year, with hopefully an even a larger Fleming fleet!
