Fleming Owner Discuss Why He Chose The F55

March 2019

I first became interested in Fleming Yachts after visiting their display at boat shows in Australia. Initially I don¹t believe they even had a yacht on display but it aroused my interest enough to read all the available articles on them. In my research I couldn¹t find a bad remark about design or performance in any magazine or review. This I found astounding for the boating industry. At the time we had changed from sail to power and were now looking for a long range cruising boat with several living areas.

Armed with this knowledge we visited Fleming Yachts Australia and also Newport in the United States to view some new and used Flemings. What became apparent very quickly was, we were dealing with people of high integrity with a passion for their product. After sea trailing a Fleming 55 we decided to purchase a new boat. This involved dealing not only Fleming Yachts Australia but also Fleming Yachts and the shipyard in Taiwan. The whole experience of specifying the fit out for the boat and the build which included a visit to the yard was a delight. Fleming were only too happy to explore new concepts in design or new equipment and make changes on my visit to the yard.

Once delivered the handover process was extensive and in my case included a 400 mile delivery cruise with Fleming personnel on board. Since then nothing has been too much trouble for Fleming Australia or Fleming Yachts with assistance always available by phone or email. Any issues with equipment have been solved in a very timely and efficient manner and more than once they have argued my cause to suppliers for equipment to replaced even though it was out of warranty.

My Fleming has been a delight since delivery and always draws compliments whether its cruising with the family, fishing with friends or entertaining corporate clients. Long term sailors remark not only on the finish of the yacht but also of her remarkable sea handling ability. The most common quote I hear is “ A Fleming would be my dream boat to own”
